I found some amazing vintage Christmas print wrapping paper in Marshall’s and I knew I wanted to make something with it. I have a lot of paper mache containers and thought I could make a cute decorative box with this paper.

The supplies you will need are:

1. Christmas wrapping paper

2. Mod podge

3. Scissors

4. Glue gun

5. Paint brush

6. Embellishments ( I am using tinsel, greenery sprigs, bottle brush trees and small vintage ball ornaments)

7. Box or container ( I am using round paper mache container from Hobby Lobby)

First step is to cut your paper for your container. I cut mine about an inch bigger so that I can cut it and fold over. For my bottom part I cut it an inch wider on both sides so it can be folded over the top and folded under the bottom. I did the same thing for the lid. I traced my circle bigger so that I can cut slits and fold the sides so that is covers the side rim of my lid.

You paint the mod podge onto your container and then place your paper on top.

After your box is completely decoupaged it is time to add your embellishments. I am hot glueing tinsel around the rim of my box and then adding bottle brush trees to the top.

This is a fun box to make and can be used as a decorative piece or used as a box for giving a gift. I hope you all enjoy this DIY and give it a try.
