I recently saw a few lamps created out of Dollar Tree plastic bowls and I am here to give it a try. We have created a few different lamps here at The Shabby Tree but this is one I think you will all want to give a try.

The supplies I am using are:

1. One large plastic bowl from the Dollar Tree

2. Two medium plastic bowls from the Dollar Tree

3. Hot glue

4. One candle stick holder

5. Black chalk paint

6. Antique wax

7. Drill and drill bit

8. Decorative knob

9. Dremel and tungsten carbide cutter

10. Paint brush

The first step is to paint the large plastic bowl and the candle stick holder.

I am using an Ink color Waverly chalk paint from Walmart. You can paint this lamp any color that you want.

I did not paint the top center of the bowl because I want my light to show through. You will also see that I did not paint the outer trim of the bowl. I painted around the scalloped edging.

Once my paint was dry I painted on the antique wax. I added this to the bowl and the candle stick holder. You can use a rag to wipe some off here and there.

I then drilled a hole in the top center of the bowl to add the decorative knob.

I traced my candle onto the medium size bowl.

I used the dremel to cut out the opening.

I wanted an opening so that this can slip over my candle.

I then added hot glue around the edge of the bowl and glued it to the other medium bowl.

I also drilled a hole into the center of this bowl. You will be placing the larger bowl on top of this bowl and you will need to have the hole for the screw of the knob to be able to slide down into.

I placed the candle onto the candle stick holder and then placed the medium plastic bowls over the candle.

I then placed the larger bowl on top of the medium bowls.

This lamp is so easy to create and I just love how it turned out. You can get so creative with this lamp and create it your way.
