We are always crafting and creating unique items here at The Shabby Tree. Fall is around the corner and we have made a pumpkin in the past using 3 splatter screens. After looking at the splatter screens I thought we could get creative and create a single pumpkin from one splatter screen.

The supplies I will be using are:

1. One splatter screen from the Dollar Tree

2. One pack of nautical rope from the Dollar Tree

3. Mod Podge

4. Paint brush

5. Spanish Moss

6. Hot glue

7. Two jumbo craft sticks

8. Scissors

9. Cream chalk paint

10. Brown and white check napkins (you can find the link below for the napkins)

You can find the exact napkins I used here and if you use the code “BARB” at checkout you will get 10% off your order: https://europeanexcellency.com/product/petit-check-brown-luncheon-napkins/

The first step is to cover the back and front of the splatter screen with the napkins.

Be sure to separate the layers of the napkins. You will use two napkins for each side.

I covered the splatter screen with the mod podge and then added the napkin.

You will add more mod podge over the top of the napkin . You will do this to both sides of the splatter screen. I decoupaged two napkins onto each side of the splatter screen. Once the first napkin was on each side I then added the second napkin and added more mod podge.

I cut the excess napkin off going around the splatter screen.

Once you cut the excess off you will then add more mod podge around the edge.

Once the mod podge is dry you can then pop out the black piece on the handle. This is an optional step but it will help allow your pumpkin to stand up better.

You will bend the handle to stand your pumpkin up.

You will bend the handle to stand your pumpkin up.

I then cut another jumbo craft stick in half to form the stem of the pumpkin.

I glued both pieces of the craft to the front and back of the splatter screen.

I then used hot glue to wrap the nautical rope around the stem.

Once the nautical rope was glued to the stem I then added it around the splatter screen.

I used the cream chalk paint to create lines down the pumpkin.

I added spanish moss to the top to help cover the craft sticks.

You can create this pumpkin using any color or print napkin that you want. I like this napkin because it give me a neutral color pumpkin. I hope you will get creative and give this fun pumpkin a try.
