I found myself in the Dollar Tree looking for items to use for Easter crafts. They have a variety of Easter decorations but I want something fun and unique. After searching through the store I decided that we can make a fun and unique Easter lantern. We will be using a Dollar Tree splatter screen and a pack of Dollar Tree doilies.

The supplies that we’ll be using are:

1. One Dollar Tree splatter screen

2. One pack of Dollar Tree doilies

3. Hot glue

4. Scissors

5. Silver tinsel

6. Paint brush

7. Americana acrylic paint by DecoArt ( colors Cotton Candy and Banana Cream)

8. Needle nose pliers

The first step is to remove the black piece on the handle of the splatter screen.

I used the needle nose pliers to pop it off.

You want to bend the handle back towards the screen.

The next step is to curve the sides of the splatter screen towards the back. Pushing the sides towards the back will give the splatter screen a more curved look.

Once you have the splatter screen shaped like you want it’s then time to add a doily.

You’ll glue the doily onto the edge of the splatter screen.

You’ll want to trim the excess doily around the edge of the splatter screen off as shown in photo above.
