Before you know it Spring and Summer will be here. When I think about Spring I think about flowers. We have created a variety of flowers here at The Shabby Tree but I want to show you one that you can easily make from a recycled egg carton.
The supplies I will be using are:
1. Recycled egg carton ( you can use paper or foam carton)
2. Hot glue
3. Scissors
4. Cream chalk paint (optional)
5. Paint brush
You will want to cut the egg carton in sections as shown above. I will be using 3 of the slots for eggs for each flower as shown in photo below.
You will want to cut the piece of egg carton to create petals for the flower.
You can cut 4 petals or 3 petals. Either way can be used to create a flower.
You will use the scissors to cut out the petals.
I will be using 4 petals on all three of my pieces.
I am glueing each piece on top of each other. You will want to alternate the petals when adding them on top of each other.
The next step is to cut a strip from the lid of the egg carton.
You want to roll this strip to form the center of the flower.
You will add hot glue to the bottom and attach it to the center of the flower.
You will do the same process for the three petal flower.
These flowers can be painted any color that you want.
The foam egg cartons can also be used and make beautiful colored flowers.
These flowers will make great embellishments and can be added to almost anything. I hope you will get creative and give these a try.
