Father’s Day is right around the corner and I wanted to come up with a fun and unique way to give a small gift. You can easily create a simple paper bag to look like a dress shirt bag.
The supplies I will be using are:
1. One small white paper bag
2. One sheet of plaid printed paper
3. Scissors
4. Hot Glue
5. Two button (optional)
You can use any size paper bag that you want. I found a pack of small white paper bags in Hobby Lobby.
I cut about a half inch off the top of my bag. This gives me a straight edge along the top of my bag.
The next step is to cut a slit into each side of the bag. I came down about 1 1/2 inches from the top of the bag and about 1 1/2 inches in from each side.
I cut out a pattern for the tie.
I used another bag and created a simple pattern.
I cut out the pattern and traced it onto the plaid sheet of paper.
I decided to cut the top part of the tie off, and then I glued it to the center of the bag.
I glued just the top part of the tie onto the bag as shown in photo above.
You will place your gift in the bag and glue down the top piece as shown in photo below.
I glued on two small buttons but this is an optional step. This bag is so easy to make and I hope you will give it a try.
