I have been looking through my craft supplies and realized I have a few terra cotta pots. There are so many things to do with terra cotta pots. I thought it would be fun to try and give a terra cotta pot the look of a basket. There are two different ways that we can easily do this.

The supplies that I’ll be using for this are:

1. Terra cotta pot ( you can use any size)

2. Hot glue

3. Scissors

4. Brown shipping paper

5. Paint brush

6. Jute placemat

7. DecoArt Americana acrylic plaint ( color Cocoa)

I painted my terra cotta pots with the Cocoa color paint. This is an optional step but I feel like it will help with any small space that might show.

The first terra cotta pot will get covered with the placemat.

You will cut the thread holding the placemat together. This will create strips that can be glued onto the terra cotta pot.

You will start at the bottom of the pot and glue the strips around the pot until you get to the very top.

The second terra cotta pot will get covered with the brown shipping paper. I cut the paper into strips about 2 inches wide.

You will take 3 strips and crumble each strip up. After you crumble them you will then braid the three strips together.

You will continue adding the braided strips of paper until you cover the entire terra cotta pot.

These are very easy to make and you can make them any size that you want.

These will make a great decoration in your home. I hope you’ll get creative and give them a try.
