If you’re looking for a simple way to add a touch of spooky charm to your home this season, this DIY ghost is the perfect project. We’re turning an ordinary embroidery hoop and a bit of lace into a whimsical ghost that’s light, airy, and full of personality. It’s an easy craft that works beautifully for Halloween decorating — hang it on your door, display it on a wall, or let it float in a window for a soft, ghostly glow. Grab your supplies and let’s get creative!

Here is what you are going to need for this DIY:
1. A 12 inch embroidery hoop
2. Lace Fabric – this one is from our website
3. Black Felt
4. A sewing needle
5. Black Thread
6. White Ribbon

I decided to skip the outer hoop for this project. I tried it on at first but liked the lace better with just a simple ribbon on top!

I folded my fabric in half, slipped the hoop between the two layers, and slid it up to meet the fold.

Next, I made a loop with a long piece of ribbon and slid it through a hole in the center of the lace, making sure it went behind the hoop.

I slid the two loose ends of the ribbon through the loop and pulled it tight. This will be how we hang the ghost.

Next, I cut two oval shapes for the eyes from black felt.

Then I used a needle and black thread to lightly stitch the eyes onto the fabric.

That’s all it takes to create this sweet little lace ghost! It’s such a quick and fun project, and it adds the perfect touch of spooky charm without being scary. I hope this inspires you to grab some lace and an embroidery hoop and make a few ghosts of your own this season!
