I love decorating for Christmas and I wanted some stockings that I can hang as decorations. I am always buying chenille bedspreads from my local thrift stores and I knew I wanted to use them for this DIY.

The supplies you will need are:

1. Material if your choice ( I am using material from a drop cloth from Home Depot and chenille bedspread from my local thrift store).

2. Stocking pattern ( I’m using a wooden cut out from Hobby Lobby)

3. Glue gun 4. Surebonder fabric glue

4. Scissors

5. Pen or marker

6. Greenery sprig ( optional)

First thing I did was trace the stocking onto my main piece of fabric and then I cut it out. You will want to have your fabric doubled so you will have 2 pieces that we will be glueing together.

I then traced the top part of my stocking onto my chenille fabric. I want this to be the top of my stocking and I want the fringe to hang down from stocking.

You will set these two pieces aside for a minute and you will now glue your two main pieces of the stocking together. You will only glue up to the base of where the top begins. You do not want to glue the top together.

Now glue your two pieces of chenille to the top of your stocking g. We did not turn anything inside out yet. I’m glueing the chenille with my fringe at top because when I fold it down later my fringe will be hanging down.

Once your chenille is glued on you then turn your stocking inside out. You will now have your chenille on the inside without the top being glued together.

You will now glue your top together.

You do not glue your opening. You now bend your top down and you now have a decorative stocking. I added a greenery sprig to it so that I can hang it up as a decoration. This can be used as a stocking for decoration or it can be used to film with goodies for your children.

I hope you all enjoy this DIY and give it a try.
