I am always trying to find new ways to use everyday items for my crafts. There are so many items that you can find in the Dollar Tree to craft with. By using two mesh strainers you can create a fun and unique bunny head.

The supplies you will need are:

1. Two mesh strainers

2. Material ( I am using warm and natural)

3. Glue gun

4. Hammer

5. Scissors

6. Paint brush

7. Paint ( I am using a cream and metallic paint by Deco Art)

8. Twine

9. Ribbon and bling of your choice

10. Wire and wire cutters

The first thing you will want to do is remove the black plastic from the handle. I did this by banging it with a hammer. You will want to be sure to wear googles while doing this.

Once the handles are removed it is time to paint the mesh screen. I am going to lightly coat the screen with cream chalk paint .

I painted the cream chalk paint on and then rubbed it in with my fingers. Once the cream paint is dry I then added some metallic over it. I feel like this gives it more of a grunge look.

Once all the paint is completely dry it is time to glue the strainers together. You will want to put a layer of hot glue around the inside rim of one of the strainers. You will want to be sure to have the two handles spread apart to form the ears of the bunny.

Be sure to double your fabric so that you will have two pieces of fabric for each ear.

You will cover the metal handles with your fabric forming the ears of your bunny. I am using hot glue and being sure to have both pieces of fabric lined up and glued together.

I then cut two strips of fabric . These strips are about 11 and half inches long and a half inch wide. These are going to get wrapped around the bunny head. You will want to glue these around the front and back sides to be sure to cover all the center rims.

Next I cut two pieces of material to glue to bottom of head. This material will cover the metal rings at bottom of bunny head.

You will want to do this to the front and back. My material pieces are about 7 inches long and 2 and a half inches wide. I gather these pieces as I glue them to my bunny head.

I then added some lace to the ears and bottom piece of material around neck area.

I also added some lace ribbon and bling to the top of the bunny head.

For the face I just used black paint for the eyes and brown paint for the nose and mouth. I then took 3 pieces of twine and knitted them together at the center. I took some hot glue and glued it to the face for whiskers.

These are so easy and fun to make. They would be amazing to put in your Easter tree. I also love these to add to a dough bowl or in a wreath. I hope you will all give this DIY a try.
