We have been celebrating Christmas in July here at The Shabby Tree and I wanted to create something fun and different for Christmas. I recently picked up a metal ribbon at Hobby Lobby that I have been wanting to get creative with. After looking at it I thought we could use it to form a gingerbread man. This will be something fun and different that you can hang any where in your home.

The supplies I will be using are:

1. Two rolls of the metal ribbon from Hobby Lobby. This can be done with one roll.

2. Four wire hangers

3. Wire cutters

4. Wire

5. Scissors

6. Greenery sprigs

7. Ribbon

8. Small clear zip ties

The first step is to cut off all of the hooks to your hangers.

You will want to use the first hanger to form the head of your gingerbread man. Once you have the head formed you will then attach another hanger to each end of the head. I overlapped the ends of the hangers and then wrapped a wire around them.

You will attach the fourth hanger the same way. It takes some bending and playing around to form your gingerbread man. You can make this as big or as small as you want.

Once the gingerbread man is formed you will then fold the metal ribbon in half. You want to attach the center point of the ribbon to the top center of the head.

You will use the small zip ties to attach the metal ribbon. I put the zip tie through the bottom holes of the metal ribbon and wrapped the zip tie around the hanger.

You will cut the end of the zip ties off. I went around the whole gingerbread man and added the zip ties here and there to make sure it would stay in place.

I made a large gingerbread man so I had to use a small piece of ribbon from my second roll.

I made a simple bow and attached it to some greenery sprigs from Hobby Lobby.

I attached the greenery and bow to the curve at the bottom of the head.

This will be fun to hang on a front door for Christmas. I hope you will get creative and give this a try.
