Ok if you’re following The Shabby Tree then you all know that I love decorating for all holidays. Fall and Halloween are right around the corner and I want to start making a few items for my yard. It’s always fun to recycle items and turn them into something fun and unique. If you have a milk jug then you might want to give this fun DIY a try.
The supplies I will be using are:
1. One gallon plastic milk jug
2. Spray paint (I’m using the color Eden)
3. Glue gun
4. Landscape Fabric (I got mine from Home Depot)
5. Scissors
6. Witch hat (I got mine from the Dollar Tree)
7. Black and white acrylic paint and paint brush
Here is the landscape fabric and gallon jug I will be using.
First step is to spray paint your jug.
Next step is to cut your landscape fabric. You can cut this any size that you want. I cut one large piece and then cut that piece into 4 smaller pieces.
I have 4 pieces measuring around 12 by 24 inches.
I then cut strips going up each piece. I left about 5 inches at the top. My strips are about an inch wide. This is the hair for your witch.
You can make this hair any way you want. Once my strips are cut I then glued each piece onto the jug.
The part of the jug where the handle is will be the face of your witch. You will want to start glueing at the sides of the face.
I just gathered and pleated the landscape fabric around the top of the head. The opening of the jug will be the bottom of your witch head.
Once I had all the hair glued in place I then painted in my face.
I used black and white acrylic paint for the face. I also added some of the landscape fabric to the lower back area of the head forming a dress for the witch.
I decided to cut a hole in the top of the head to add a strand of battery operated lights.
This allows the head to light up. You can place this witch any where on your porch or out in your yard. There are so many different ways you can create her.I used landscape fabric but you can also use a black garbage bag for her hair. This witch is very easy to create and I hope you will all give her a try. One of my amazing followers shared this idea and I just changed her up using different items. Crafting is about making things your way and being creative and having fun.
