Fall is quickly approaching and it is time to start thinking about creating some fun and unique Fall decor. We create a lot of things here at The Shabby Tree and we usually try to create unique items. When I think about Fall I think about pumpkins. I want to create a fun and unique pumpkin and I think we can use paint rollers for it.
You can purchase paint rollers from the Dollar Tree and you will need 7 of them for one pumpkin.
I will be coloring all 6 rollers in watered down paint. You can add the paint to water and I like to add vanilla and cinnamon for that grungy look and Fall smell.
It is best to start out with a small amount if water and then mix in the paint. I like to rub extra paint onto the rollers. You can add the vanilla into the mixture and then sprinkle the cinnamon onto the roller as you go.
You will need to set them aside to dry. It was hot day outside so my rollers dried very quickly.
Some other supplies I will be using to create this pumpkin are:
1. Hot glue
2. Nautical rope from the Dollar Tree (I am using 2 packs)
3. Spanish moss
4. Toilet paper roll
5. Artificial greenery sprigs
6. Scissors
You will add hot glue down the center of one of the paint rollers.
You will attach the second roller as shown in photo above.
You will then add more hot glue to attach the third roller as shown in photo above.
You will add hot glue to two of the rollers as shown in photo above to add the fourth roller.
You will continue adding the hot glue and rollers until you get the shape of the pumpkin as shown in photo below.
Once the pumpkin is formed you will then add strips of the nautical rope down between the rollers.
I glued the strips of nautical rope to the bottom and top of the center roller.
You will place the toilet paper roll into the center roller.
I added hot glue and wrapped the nautical rope around the toilet paper roll to form the stem of the pumpkin.
I had to open the second pack of nautical rope to finish off the stem.
I added Spanish moss and greenery to the top of the pumpkin.
I made a hang tag to add the top.
This pumpkin is very easy to create and will make a fun and unique Fall decoration in your home. I hope you will get creative and give this a try.
