I have been trying to come up with a few items to put on my all year long trees. If you love craft stores like I do then you have all seen the printed card stock paper. You can find books of paper for all different holidays or occasions. I have a book of paper that is printed on both sides and I just knew we could create something fun with it.
The supplies I will be using are:
1. Printed card stock paper (my paper has prints on both sides)
2. Scissors
3. Decorative brads (I find these in Hobby Lobby)
4. A ruler or something to help you draw a straight line
5. A hole puncher
6. Pen or pencil
You will need your paper to be a perfect square. Your square can be any size that you want. I am using a piece of paper that is a 6×6.
I cut the top piece off so that you don’t see that hole in the center.
You will need to mark an x on your piece of paper. I am using a piece of cardboard to trace a line from one corner to the other. I did this to all four corners giving me one large x. You now know where the center is and you have the four lines that you will need to cut.
You will start at one corner and cut on the line but do not cut right into the center. You will be placing the brad into the center area of your paper so you will need to stop cutting about a half an inch from the center.
You will cut all four lines the same way.
Once your paper is cut you will have four triangles. I then punched a hole in every other corner of the triangles.
I used the end of my ink to poke a hole in the center of my paper. I did not use the hole puncher for the center because I wanted a smaller hole in the center.
It is now time to pull up the corners that have the holes. You will want to place the back side of the brad through these holes.
The back of the brad has two pieces that you will want to straighten out and have together.
I am placing the brad through all four holes and then I will push the brad through my center hole in the paper.
You will fold down the ends of the brad on the backside of your pinwheel.
These are so easy to make and you can use all different types of paper.
I made a few out of old music paper.
