Ok we love fun and unique items here at The Shabby Tree and I think I know a way to create a fun and unique pumpkin. I want a fun pumpkin that can be displayed as a pumpkin but also used as a fun lantern.

The supplies that I’ll be using are:

1. Two sets of 10 inch embroidery hoops

2. One decorative knob

3. Drill and drill bit ( you want your drill bit to be same size as your screw to your knob)

4. Dremel

5. Hot glue

6. Spanish moss

7. Americana acrylic paint by DecoArt (color spiced pumpkin)

8. Paint brush

I purchased my embroidery hoops from Hobby Lobby and they are 10 inches.

You will want the separate the inner hoop from the outer hoop. Once your separate the embroidery hoops you will have a total of 4 embroidery hoops each hoop will be 10 inches. I cut the first hoop at the sides of the metal piece on the embroidery hoop.

Once you cut the first embroidery hoop at the sides of the metal that embroidery hoop will measure 30.5 inches around. I then cut the next 3 embroidery hoops one inch smaller from each other which will give you 4 different size embroidery hoops. The four hoops will measure 30.5”, 29.5”, 28.5” and 27.5”.

You will paint all four embroidery hoops with the Spiced Pumpkin colored paint.

Once you have all four embroidery hoops painted you will then drill a hole at the top center of each hoop.

You will add the knob through the hole of all four hoops.

I decided to trim the bottom part of two of the embroidery hoops.

This allowed it to stand and be even.

I glued some Spanish moss to the top.

You can add a candle ring and candle to the bottom. This pumpkin will also look great on a tray or in a bowl.

I hope you will get creative and give this a try.
