I bought a big bag of beads from my local thrift store and I have been trying to find some ornament ideas for them. I love trees and knew as soon as I saw this one that I had to try it.

The supplies you will need are:

1. Ribbon ( you can use any ribbon you would like but a stiff or wired ribbon works best)

2. Wooden beads ( you can use any size bead you would like)

2. A thin twine or jute

3. Scissors

4. Hot glue ( this is optional)

First thing is cut a piece of twine. I did not measure but I cut mine a little longer so that it is easier to knot for my ends.
I put the wine through my needle and then made a knot at the end of my twine.

You place your needle through your ribbon. You want to decide how big you want your first layer of loops to be. Leave enough ribbon on both sides and place your needle up and through. Now you will add a bead before bringing ribbon over to start second layer of loops.

You continue this same process going up but you will make each loop a little shorter then the previous loop. This is want us going to form it to look like a tree.

When you decide you made enough loops you will need to make a loop from the twine on top for hanging. I made my loop and then added a knot to hold it all in place. Cut off the the excess ribbon and you now have a tree ornament.

I added a little hot glue to my bottom piece of ribbon. This step is optional and does not need to be done.

I just love how easy these are to make. You can be so creative when making these and use leather strips, wired ribbon any print or just a stiff ribbon. I hope you enjoy this Diy and I hope you all give it a try.
