When it is time to start pulling out the Christmas decorations I seem to notice that I have a variety of Santa’s. I love Christmas and I love decorating for it. You will find a variety of Christmas decorations in the store but I want to try and create a santa boot that I can fill with some greenery and mix in with my Santa’s.

The supplies I will be using are:

1. One recycled can ( my can is a 14.5 oz can)

2. One styrofoam ball ( my styrofoam ball is 3 inches wide)

3. Hot glue

4. Black chunky yarn

5. Scissors

6. One mop pad from the Dollar Tree

7. Piece of cardboard

You will want to cut a piece of the styrofoam ball off. I cut less then half off.

I placed the can and styrofoam ball onto the piece of cardboard and traced the shape of the boot.

You will cut the cardboard and then glue the can and styrofoam ball onto the cardboard cut out.

Once the can and styrofoam ball are glued in place you will then start to glue on the chunky yarn.

I glued the beginning of the yarn to back of the can and then continued glueing around.

You will continue glueing the yarn until you get about one inch from the top of the can.

Once the yarn is all glued in place it is time to glue the mop head to the top of the can.

You will add hot glue all around the top of the can.

Wrap the bottom edge of the mop completely around the can.

You will add hot glue to the one end of mop pad to secure both ends together.

Once the mop pad is glued in place you will then fold the top part of the mop pad half way into the can.

The top of the boot should still have an opening so that you can place greenery into the boot.

This boot is so easy to make and can be made in a variety of sizes. I hope you will get creative and give this a try.
