DIY Snowman Tray Makeover: Transform Your Winter Decor

We recently added some adorable snowman trays to our website! While they’re cute on their own, I thought it would be fun to give them a little makeover to add a personal, festive touch.

You can find the list of supplies that I’ll be using down below.

1. One large snowman tray from our website

2. Pages from a book

3. Mod Podge

4. Mod Podge spray

5. Silver glitter

6. Silver tinsel

7. Hot glue

8. Paint brush

9. Antique wax by Waverly

10. Cream chalk paint by Waverly

11. Scissors

Start by applying a coat of cream chalk paint to the inside edge of the snowman tray. This will give it a soft, neutral base and help highlight any additional details you add later.

Once the cream chalk paint is dry, brush a layer of antique wax over it. This will give the tray a rustic, vintage look and add depth to the cream color. Use a cloth to gently wipe away any excess wax, allowing the texture of the tray to come through. Let it dry completely before continuing.

After the antique wax has dried, apply a coat of spray Mod Podge to seal and protect your design. This layer will add a slight sheen and keep the paint and wax in place, preserving the rustic finish. Let the Mod Podge dry fully before moving to the next step.

The next step is to start adding the book pages to the top hat, scarf and edge of the snowman.
