I love decorating my home with old antique items and I recently found some old antique spools. Old wooden spools are an amazing item to craft with but also to decorate with. You can create so many things out of an old wooden spool. After looking at the spools that I found I realized that we can get creative and make a few spools.

The supplies I will be using are:

1. A few recycled paper rolls (I am using a paper towel roll and a roll from bubble wrap)

2. Round wooden circles (I got mine from Walmart and Hobby Lobby)

3. Hot glue

4. Maple colored gel stain

5. Paint brush

6. Scissors

I will be using two different size wooden circles. You will need two circles for one spool.

I stained all of my wooden circles and paper rolls with a walnut gel stain.

Once all your items are stained you will then glue the wooden circles onto the paper roll.

I added hot glue to the rim of the paper roll and then added the wooden circle.

You can make these in a variety of sizes. I used a stain on mine but you can paint them any color that you like.

These will make a cute decoration throughout my home. You can add yarn or twine to them.

There are so many different items that you can use for the center of your spool. A pringles chip can would work great for the larger spool. I hope you will get creative and give this a try.
