It is time to start creating some Valentine decorations. When I think of Valentine’s Day I think of hearts. You can decorate with hearts all year long which is why I love making a variety of them. I wanted to create a heart that can be used on a tree or hung on your front door. After going through my material I thought it would be fun to create a pocket heart.

The supplies I will be using are:

1. Material of your choice ( I will be using felt and burlap)

2. Surebonder fabric glue and glue gun

3. Tulle ( I’m using a cream and a pink )

4. Scissors

5. Wire

6. Wire cutters

7. Silver glitter

8. Elmer’s glue

I will be making a variety of different size hearts. You will want to cut out two hearts the same size to form a pocket.

I also cut out a smaller heart from a different color felt.

I glued the smaller felt heart onto the front side of one of the larger hearts.

I then glued both larger hearts together but leaving an opening at the top to form a pocket.

I attached some wire to the top of the heart to create a hanger.

You can add some elmer’s glue and glitter around the edges of the heart.

I cut some strips of tulle to add to the inside of the pocket.

I created a hang tag and attached it to the wire hanger.

These hearts can be created with any type of material and in a variety of sizes.

I bought some burlap from Walmart that has lace print on it. This made a pretty heart pocket.

These are very easy to make and will look great any where in your home. I hope you will get creative and give this a try.
