While shopping for new Christmas decor at Walmart, I found some adorable holiday containers that caught my eye. One tree-shaped container stood out, and I immediately knew it had potential for a fun and creative DIY project.
This will be a very quick and easy makeover. You can find the supplies that I’ll be using listed down below.
1. One plastic tree container from Walmart
2. Pom Pom’s
3. Hot glue
4. Pom pom ribbon
5. Meadow Green colored spray paint by Rust-Oleum
6. Battery operated colored lights
The first step in this project is to lightly spray paint the plastic tree-shaped container to create a clean, fresh base for your makeover.
Once the green spray paint is fully dry, apply a coat of polyurethane spray to the container. This will give it a smooth, durable finish and enhance the overall look of your project.
After the polyurethane is completely dry, it’s time to glue on the pom-pom ribbon. Carefully attach the ribbon around the container to add a fun, festive touch to your tree-shaped decor.
Once the pom-pom garland is securely glued in place, the next step is to glue on individual pom-poms. Carefully attach them to the container, filling in spaces or creating patterns to add extra texture and charm to your tree-shaped decoration.
Once the pom-poms are glued in place, the next step is to add some lights inside the container. Carefully arrange the lights to create a warm, glowing effect that will make your tree-shaped container truly stand out.
This turned out so cute and adds the perfect festive touch! It pairs beautifully with the trees that will be hitting our website soon, making it an ideal addition to your holiday decor collection.

I hope this inspires you to get creative and try out this fun makeover for yourself!
