We are always creating fun and unique items here at The Shabby Tree and we have used wire hangers for a few of them. Spring is right around the corner and I just know we can create a unique carrot using a wire hanger.

The supplies I will be using are:

1. Wire hanger

2. Chenille orange yarn (I purchased this yarn from Michael’s)

3. Scissors

4. Greenery sprig

5. Wire cutters (only needed if you want to make a smaller carrot)

6. Hot glue gun

The first step is to shape the wire hanger into the shape of a carrot.

You will want to hot glue the chenille yarn to the top of the hanger.

I only glued the yarn to the top of the hanger and then down the sides of the hanger. You want to be sure that the yarn is not glued together in the center of the hanger. You want to be able to place the greenery down the center of the yarn and you want the yarn to hide the stem.

I added glue to the sides of the hanger as I wrapped the yarn around the hanger.

You can wrap the yarn all the way down the hanger making a large carrot. If you want a smaller carrot you can use wire cutters to cut the end of the hanger.

I tucked the greenery stem down in between the yarn.

These are so easy to make and love how you can make them different sizes. These will look amazing on my fireplace mantle and in my Easter tree.
