I ordered a lot of wooden beads from Amazon and I have been trying to create some fun and unique items with them. I’m beginning to decorate my mantle for Spring and Easter and I wanted to add a few crosses to it. You can easily create a decorative cross using a few wooden beads and wire.

The supplies I will be using are:

1. Wooden beads (I am using 20mm beads)

2. Wire (I am using 18 gauge wire)

3. Needle nose pliers with wire cutter

4. Drill and drill bit (I’m using 1/8 drill bit)

5. Twine

6. Deco Art Metallic Lustre and I am using the color white frost (optional)

I will be using 16 wooden beads for one cross. The center bead will need to have another hole drilled through other direction of the hole that is already in bead.

I found it easier to hold the bead with the pliers while drilling the hole. Be sure to have a piece of scrap wood under the bead while drilling.

Once I had the hole drilled I then colored all 16 beads with the white frost metallic lustre.

You can rub the metallic lustre onto your beads with your finger or a sponge.

I cut two pieces of wire. One is 9 inches long and the other is 6 1/2 inches long.

Be sure to place the bead with the extra hole in the center of your cross. This bead will have both wires going through it.

You will want to place 3 beads on each side of the center bead for the 6 1/2 inch piece of wire. The 9 inch wire will go through the center bead and you will add 6 beads on one end and 3 beads on the other end.

You can add a piece of twine to the top metal loop of your cross.

These are very easy to make and you can add these any where throughout your home.
