Ok if you’re following The Shabby Tree then you already know that I love things that light up. We’re always creating fun and different things but I have never made a light up scenery. I want to create something that can be easily changed out for different seasons or holidays. After trying a few things I think an embroidery hoop will work best.

The supplies that I’ll be using are:

1. One 10 inch embroidery

2. One 10 in x 10 in plywood circle from Hobby Lobby

3. Hot glue

4. Moss

5. One strand of 20 count battery operated wire lights

6. Warm Caramel colored spray paint by Rust-oleum

7. Small silver glittered stars from Hobby Lobby

The first thing that I did was spray paint the plywood circle and the embroidery hoop. I’m inly using the inside hoop for this project.

Once they were spray painted I glued the embroidery hoop to the circle.

Be sure to use a lot of hot glue to hold the embroidery hoop. I added some of the moss over the glue.

Once the embroidery hoop is in place you’ll then add more moss to the rest of the circle.

You’ll want to also cover the embroidery hoop with moss.

Once I had the moss all glued on I then wrapped my lights around the embroidery hoop.

I hung some small stars from the top of the embroidery hoop. You can tie these or glue them on.

I also added some moss over the box to the strand of lights.

I added some small trees and a wooden deer cut out. You can add almost anything to this and I love how easy it is to change out.

You can find the deer and trees that I’m using on cur website right here

This is so easy to make and I hope you will get creative and give it a try.
