I am a huge thrift store shopper and I am always grabbing a lot of glass and silver items. We are always creating fun and unique items here at The Shabby Tree so I am always picking up extra items from my local thrift stores. There are so many things you can do with a glass bowl and I seem to have a lot of them. Christmas is right around the corner and I just know there has to be a quick and easy way to create a unique snowman head.

The main supplies you will need for this are:

1. Glass bowl (it can be any size bowl you want)

2. Black and orange paint

3. Epsom salt

4. Paint brush

5. Mod Podge

6. Ribbon (optional)

7. Christmas candle ring (optional)

8. Old silver tray pieces (optional)

Snowmen are white so we will be coating the inside of the bowl with epsom salt. You will want to paint a coat of mod podge on the inside of the bowl. You will then sprinkle the epsom salt around the inside of the bowl and shake the excess back out of the bowl.

It is now time to paint the face of your snowman. I am using a black and an orange acrylic paint.

Be sure to paint your face with the opening of the bowl on the bottom. You will want to add a light up in the bowl . I then added a hat to the top of the head. You can buy a snowman hat or make one. I am using our diy pill bottle snowman hat that we made here at The Shabby Tree.

You can do this same process to almost any glass item. I also did it using a wine glass.

There are so many different ways to create this fun and unique snowman head. I found a frosted antique looking bowl that looked great as is for a snowman head.

I always try to inspire everyone to look at items in a fun and unique way. The glass item that resembles a basket worked amazing for a snowman hat. I also combined a variety of silver items to add height to my snowman head.

You can place a battery operated light under the bowl which will allow your snowman head to light up.

I added some ribbon the the base of the wine glass. You can also add some Christmas candle rings at the base of your bowl.

These are so easy to make and I hope you will all get creative and give them a try.
