I used Folkart’s Soft Apple and Yellow Daffodil!
Pour water into your bowl, keeping in mind that the amount of paint you add will determine how bold your doily’s color turns out. Start with a small amount of paint and mix it in—if you want a more vibrant look, you can always add more!
Once the paint is fully mixed into the water, place your doily into the mixture, making sure it’s completely soaked. Gently press it down and move it around to ensure the entire doily absorbs the color evenly.
Once your doily is fully soaked, carefully wring it out to remove any excess liquid. This helps prevent dripping and allows the color to set more evenly.
Double-check your doily to make sure it’s fully covered in color. If you notice any uneven spots, you can dip it back into the mixture or gently rub the paint in to ensure even coverage.
I repeated the process with the green paint, making sure each doily was fully saturated. Then, I laid them out in the sunshine to dry, allowing the color to set beautifully.
I got creative with the placement of the dye to add some unique effects. For my medium-sized doily, I applied the color just around the outer edge for a fun, decorative touch. On my smaller doily, I used my finger to press the paint mixture into the center, creating a different look.
Once they were dry, they turned out absolutely beautiful! I ended up using them to create a fun flower on a Dollar Tree Easter decoration, and I just love how it all came together. This is such an easy way to add a pop of color and personality to your crafts!
