I love using garlands on my mantel and I thought it would be fun to create a fabric rag garland. This garland can be created with any type of fabric you want.

This garland is very easy to make. You’ll need some type of fabric, jute and a pair of scissors.

I’m using old lace curtains, sheets and scrap fabric for my garland. You’ll want to cut the fabric into strips.

I cut my strips about 29” long and 2” wide.

Once I had my strips cut I then added them to a strip of jute. You can make your garland as long or as short as you want.

I folded the strip of fabric in half and placed it under the jute.

I brought both ends of the fabric up and through the loop and shown in photo above.

You will pull it tight and it should look like the photo above.

You’ll do the same thing to all the strips of fabric.

This garland is very easy to make and will look great any where in your home. I hope you’ll get creative and give this a try.
