Summer is right around the corner, and the stores are already filling up with beautiful planters perfect for seasonal decorating. On a recent trip to Walmart, I spotted a planter that instantly sparked some creative ideas. It’s the perfect base for a fun and eye-catching summer floral arrangement.

You will find the list of supplies that I’ll be using for this arrangement down below.

1. Floral candle ring from our website

2. Half sphere from our website

3. Planter from Walmart

4. Twelve green pipe cleaners

5. Pack of brooches from our website

6. Hot glue

7. Six wooden skewers

8. Napkin from European Excellency

9. Mod podge

10. Paint brush

11. Antique Gold Rub N’ Buff

The first step is to carefully remove the back layers of your napkin, leaving just the top printed layer. You can find the exact napkin I’m using from European Excellency through my referral link down below.

This napkin adds the perfect pop of color to the planter. I applied a layer of Mod Podge to the surface and then carefully placed the napkin on top.

I repeated this process along the top edge of the planter and then continued around the lower portion.

Once the napkin was in place, I added a touch of Antique Gold Rub ’n Buff to enhance the details.

You can apply as much or as little Rub ’n Buff as you’d like.

Once the planter was finished, it was time to add the florals. I combined a candle ring and a half sphere, then placed them inside the planter.

Next, add six decorative brooches to select flowers to give the arrangement a unique and eye-catching detail.

I used a pair of pliers to remove the backs from the brooches.

Next, randomly attach the six decorative brooch pieces to different flowers using glue to add a unique, eye-catching detail.

The remaining six brooches can be attached to green pipe cleaners and wooden skewers.

Start by threading the pipe cleaner through the pin on the brooch and securing it with a bit of hot glue. Fold the pipe cleaner over the pin, then attach the wooden skewer. Begin wrapping the pipe cleaner around the skewer about 2 inches from the top.

I used two pipe cleaners for each flower.

Place the flowers randomly into the arrangement to create a full and natural look. This turned out to be such a fun and unique piece, and I hope you’ll get creative and give this DIY a try!
