I was recently in the Dollar Tree walking up and down all of isles. They have been putting out a few red kitchen items and a red dish drying mat caught my eye. The red dish drying mat is thick and will be very easy to use for making a pillow.

I’ll be using two of these to make one heart shaped pillow.

The supplies that I’ll be using are:

1. Two Dollar Tree dish drying mats

2. Surebonder fabric glue

3. Red thread and needle

4. Scissors

5. Poly-fill stuffing

6. Marker

7. Large scrap piece of paper for pattern

The first thing I did was to cut a piece of shipping paper the same size at one of the cutting mats.

I folded the paper in half and drew a heart. Once I cut the heart out I’ll use it a pattern for my heart shape pillow.

I used a black marker to make tiny dots going around the pattern.

I traced the paper heart pattern onto both dish drying mats and then cut the hearts out.

Once I had both hearts cut out I then used the surebonder glue to secure them both together.

Be sure to leave an opening at one side of the heart. This opening will allow you to flip the heart inside out and then add the poly-fill stuffing.

Once you flip the heart inside out you’ll then add the stuffing as shown in photos down below.

The last step is to sew the opening closed with the needle and thread.

This pillow is so quick and easy to make. It will make a fun pop of red any where in your home. I hope you’ll get creative and give this pillow a try.
