I’ve been looking at a variety of Christmas decorations that the stores have been putting out. There seems to be a variety of holiday bells that make a cute decoration. After looking through my craft supplies I realized that we can make a very easy decorative bell out of some plastic bowls.
The supplies that I’ll be using are:
1. Two 5Qt. clear plastic bowls from Dollar General
2. E6000 glue
3. Hot glue
4. Drill and drill bit
5. Cinnamon
6. Mod Podge
7. Warm Caramel colored spray paint by Rust-oleum
8. Nautical rope from the Dollar Tree
9. Paint brush
10. Black acrylic paint
11. Scissors
The first step is to remove the label from the bowls.
You’ll then drill a hole into the bottom of one bowl. The hole should be big enough to fit two strips of the nautical rope through.
You’ll place both ends of a strip of nautical rope into the hole and then tie the ends into a knot.
I added a small amount of hot glue to the inside of the bowl to secure the knot in place.
The next step is to add the E6000 glue around the rim of the other bowl.
I added some hot glue to the E6000 glue and then placed the other bowl with the nautical rope on top.
The next step is to spray paint both bowls with the Warm Caramel colored spray paint.
You’ll use the black acrylic paint to create the effect of holes in the bell.
You’ll creat four and each one will be across from the other.
The last step is to add the Mod Podge and cinnamon.
You can add as much cinnamon to this bell as you want. This bell is so easy to make and will look great hanging any where in your home. I hope you’ll get creative and give this fun bell a try.
