I have been finding the cutest Christmas wrapping paper in Marshall’s and Home Goods. The wrapping paper that I’ve been buying has the cutest Santa’s on it and I just knew we would have to get creative with it. I thought it would be fun to create some simple ornaments out of the wrapping paper.
The supplies that I’ll be using are:
1. Christmas wrapping paper from Home Goods
2. Hot glue
3. Decoupage
4. Tinsel
5. Raffia
6. Scissors
7. Small bowl
8. Ink pen
9. Paint brush
10. Cardboard
The first step is to cut a circle out of a piece of cardboard. I traced a small bowl onto the cardboard and then cut out my circle.
The next step is to trace your cardboard circle onto the wrapping paper.
I traced my cardboard circle onto the wrapping paper twice. This will give me two circles of the wrapping paper to cover the front and back of the cardboard circle.
I added the decoupage onto the cardboard and then added the wrapping paper circle.
Once I had both sides covered with the wrapping paper I then added the tinsel around the circle.
I glued the tinsel around the front and then I went around the outside edge and then over to the back side.
Once I had the tinsel in place I then created a small bowl out of raffia. I ordered this raffia from Amazon. You can click my referral link down below to see the exact raffia that I ordered from Amazon.
I zig zagged the raffia back and forth a few times and then tied a small piece around the center to create a simple bow. Once I had the center tied I then used the scissors to cut the ends.
I glued a small raffia bow to both sides of the ornament.
These fun ornaments are so easy to make and you can use any type of wrapping paper to make these. I hope you’ll get creative and give this fun ornament a try.
