Spring is here and I seem to be thinking about flowers. I thought it would be fun to create some quick and easy flowers out of ribbon.

You can use ribbon or strips of fabric for these flowers. You’ll also need a needle and upholstery thread. I like to use upholstery thread because it doesn’t break when knotting the ends together.

You’ll want to do a basting stitch down one side of the ribbon or strip of fabric.

You can use as much ribbon or fabric as you want. The more ribbon the bigger the flower will be.

Once you have the basting stitch done you’ll then pull both ends of the thread tightly together to form your flower.

Once you have the flower formed you’ll want to tie both ends into a knot.

These flowers can be used so many different ways. I decided to add mine to a styrofoam ball by using some floral pins.

I’m adding this floral ball to a container so I’ll be leaving the bottom part unfinished.

You can add some smaller flowers on top of the larger flowers. I decided to add a few bling pieces to a few of the flowers. You can find the bling on Totally Dazzled by clicking my referral link down below.

You can make these flowers any color that you want and as big or as small as you want. I hope you’ll get creative and give these a try.
