I was recently in Home Goods and found the cutest nutcracker napkins. We are always creating fun items with napkins here at The Shabby Tree. This napkin is very pretty and I just know we can easily create a light up nutcracker with it.
The supplies that I’ll be using are:
1. One nutcracker napkin from Home Goods
2. Decoupage
3. Paint brush
4. Glass jar from Hobby Lobby
5. Cotton Candy colored spray paint by Rust-oleum
6. Americana acrylic paint by DecoArt ( color Sweet Mint)
7. Crystal glitter that I like to call sugar glitter
The first thing that I did was give the glass jar a light coat of the Cotton Candy colored spray paint.
The next step to apply the napkin.
Be sure to remove the back layers of the napkin.
Apply the decoupage and then the napkin.
Once you apply the napkin then apply another coat of the decoupage over the napkin.
I added some if the Sweet Mint paint to the bottom for legs.
You can add more decoupage over the entire glass jar then sprinkle on the glitter.
I added some battery operated lights to the jar.
This was so quick and easy to make and will look great any where in your home. I hope this will inspire you to look at napkin and find different ways to get creative with it.
