We have been creating a variety of angels here at The Shabby Tree. I love adding all types of angels throughout my home. It is a dark and gloomy day today which has me wanting to create something that can light up. I have a few battery operated votives and I thought we could create some angels to put them in.

The supplies I will be using are:

1. Paper towel or toilet paper rolls

2. Scissors

3. Hot glue 4. Paper ( I am using a burlap paper but you can use any type of paper)

5. Metallic paint by DecoArt ( I am using Venetian Gold)

6. Paint brush

The first step is to push down on the paper towel roll. You want to flatten it out to give you even crease lines. The crease lines will help you cut out the body the to your angel.

Place a mark on the paper towel roll at the top of your candle. This angel looks better if the candle does not show.

You want to draw a loop up towards the other side of the paper towel roll but create a half a circle at the top. Once this is cut out the half a circle will create the head to your angel.

Your candle will be placed inside the body of the angel as shown in photo above.

You will paint the body if the angel with the gold paint.

I will be creating wings out a sheet of burlap paper. This paper measures 6×6 inches. You can use any type of paper for your wings.

I folded the paper in half and placed a mark at the neck of the angel.

I drew the shape of a wing and then cut them out.

I used hot glue to attach the wings to the back of the angel.

These are so easy to make and you can create a variety of sizes. I hope you will get creative and give this a try.
