Summer is right around the corner and a lot of people will be traveling to the beach. I recently went to the beach and wanted to come up with a fun way to display some of my sea shells that I brought home. I found a nice wooden cross in Hobby Lobby that gave me an idea for a fun way to display my shells.

The supplies that I’ll be using are:

1. Sea shells

2. Mosaic accents from Hobby Lobby

3. Wooden cross from Hobby Lobby

4. Epoxy Resin

5. Heat gun

I’m using a wooden cross that has the space to pour the resin into. You can use any type of tray for this craft idea.

I decided to add some hot glue to the back side of the wooden cross to prevent any resin from seeping out of the crack.

You’ll want to place the sea shells into the cross.

You can place your sea shells into the cross any way that you want. I wanted to fit as many shells as I can leaving a small space between the shells to add the mosaic accents.

You can find the mosaic accents in a variety of colors. I chose the neutral colors to blend in with my sea shells.

Once you have the shells and the mosaic accents all in place it’s then time to mix the resin.

Resin is very easy to use and you just need to follow the directions on your bottle. It’s very important to have equal amounts of each bottle.

You’ll pour the two mixtures together in one cup. Stir the mixture together for about 3 minutes.

Once you have the 2 mixtures stirred together you’ll then slowly pour the mixture over the sea shells.

Once I had the resin all poured into my cross I then used the heat gun to pop any air bubbles that I had.

Some of my shells stick out above the resin but I like that look. I gave my cross a good 12 to 24 hours to dry.

This was so easy to make and I just love how it turned out. I hope you’ll get creative and give this easy craft a try.

I purchased my resin from Amazon and you can find the exact one that I ordered on Amazon store by clicking the link down below.
