It is time to start adding a few Valentine decorations throughout my home. If you’re following The Shabby Tree then you all know that I love to add old silver, glass and cream pieces throughout my home. The Dollar Tree has oval metal silver trays that I know would be perfect to create a heart for Valentine’s Day.

Some other supplies I will be using are:

1. Two metal oval silver trays from the Dollar Tree

2. Hot glue

3. Silver glitter

4. Craft glue or Elmer’s glue

5. Ribbons

6. Doilies

7. Scissors

8. Piece of cream card stock paper (I am using one of my shipping tags)

9. Black marker

You will want to glue the two oval trays together to form your heart.

I added hot glue to one lower rim of one tray.

I place one tray on top of the other to form my heart.

The next step is to glue your ribbons and doilies onto the center of the heart.

You will want to cut a circle out of the card stock paper. This circle is for the center of the doily.

I added glue and glitter around the edge of the circle.

I used the black marker to write love in the center.

I glued the circle onto the center of the doilies.

You can create this heart so many different ways. I left the trays silver but you can always get creative and paint them. This is very easy to make and looks great on my fire place mantle.
