You all know I love taking something simple and giving it a whole new look! When I grabbed one of our wooden trees from The Shabby Tree website, I knew it had so much potential. It was cute as-is… but I wanted something softer, a little vintage, and of course a little sparkle!
This makeover is so easy to do, and the lace completely transforms this wooden tree into a beautiful statement piece that works for Christmas or even winter décor.
If you want to recreate this exact look, you can grab the wooden tree right from our website here:

Here is what you are going to need for this DIY:
1. A wooden tree tray
2. Lace from our website – the one I used is sold out right now but we have other options here: https://theshabbytreeboutique.com/st-exclusives/
3. Hot Glue
4. Scissors
5. Elmers glue
6. Glitter

I started out by laying the lace over the wooden tree and heated up my glue gun.

I folded back the lace and placed the hot glue on the back of the fabric. Once the glue was in place, I folded the fabric back onto the tree and used my hands and pressed the tree into place.

You can see the glue a bit, but you can’t tell by the end of the DIY.

Once everything was glued down, I started cutting around the tree

This the fun part! Adding glitter.

I traced the shapes that I really wanted to pop with the Elmers glue.

Then I sprinkled the glitter over it and knocked off the excess.

To give it a clean, finished look, I traced the edte of the tree with the glue and glittered it too.

I absolutely love how this wooden tree turned out. It’s amazing what a little lace and sparkle can do to completely transform something simple into a beautiful statement piece. This is the kind of DIY that looks high-end but is so easy to recreate.
I hope this inspires you to grab one of our wooden trees from the website and give it your own creative touch. You can keep it neutral like I did, or change up the lace and trim to match your home and your style.
As always, don’t be afraid to get creative and make it your own. That’s what makes crafting so much fun!
If you recreate this DIY, be sure to share it with us. I love seeing what you all come up with.
