When you’re a crafter you’re always looking for craft items in the Dollar Tree. I recently came across some cute chalkboard bird ornaments. These are very cute and I knew I wanted to give them a quick and very easy makeover.
The supplies that I’ll be using for this makeover are:
1. Chalkboard bird ornaments from the Dollar Tree
2. Americana acrylic paint by DecoArt (Tuscan Red)
3. Paint brush
4. Hot glue
5. Feathers
The first step is to paint the ornaments. I’ll be turning my birds into red cardinals. You can create your birds to be any color that you want.
I’m painting my birds with the Tuscan Red colored paint by DecoArt.
Once the paint is dry you’ll then glue on the feathers. I purchased my bag of red feathers from Hobby Lobby.
I glued 3 feathers to each side of my bird.
You can hang these birds or glue them to a stick.
I decided to hang one in the center of two beaded rings. You can find the candle ring , container and rings all on our website by clicking the links down below.

This is a very fun and easy makeover. I love how this bird turned out and I love how there are so many different ways to use it. I hope you’ll have fun and give this makeover a try.
