We have made a variety of items here at The Shabby Tree using clothespins. Since Spring and Easter are right around the corner I wanted to use clothespins to create a few carrots. These are very easy to make and can be added to many things throughout your home.
The supplies I will be using are:
1. Wooden clothespins
2. Jute
3. Hot glue
4. Scissors
5. Paint (green and orange)
The first step is to separate the clothespins.
The next step is to glue the two pieces together to form the carrot.
Once your clothespins are glued together you will then paint them orange. I am using a pumpkin spice orange by Deco Art.
You now need to create the top of the carrot. I am using a jute and I am cutting a few strings about 6 inches long.
I tied a knot in the center to hold all the strings together.
I make sure all of the ends of the jute were cut.
I then glued the knots to the top part of the clothespins.
Once the knots were all glued in place I then glued jute around the top of the carrot.
The last step is take your green paint and paint the jute.
I am using a hauser medium green by Deco Art.
These are very easy to make and can be added to almost anything for a spring decoration.
I love how they look with my battery operated candles.
