I was in the Dollar Tree shopping and I found a few orange safety cones. My first thought was to create a tree using one but after looking at I just knew we could create a very quick and easy gnome with it.
A few other supplies that I will be using are:
1. Cream paint
2. Paint brush
3. Scissors
4. Hot glue
5. A large wooden bead or dowel cap (my dowel cap is 1 1/2 in and I got it from Hobby Lobby)
6. Industrial wet mop head (you can find this in Walmart or on amazon)
7. Fuzzy Valentine sock
The first step is to take the stickers off of the cone.
You will then cut the bottom rim of the cone off.
I then painted my cone a cream color. You don’t want the orange color of the cone to be seen through the mop head.
Once the cone is dry you will want to place the mop head over the cone.
You will then place the sock over the mop head. The sock is going to hold the mop head in place.
The last step is to glue your wooden bead in place.
This gnome is so quick and easy to make. The only item we glued was the wooden bead. The mop and sock can always be used again for another idea. This gnome can also be created for different holidays by using different colored socks.
