Ok if you’re following The Shabby Tree then you know how I love things that light up. We recently had some fun photos taken for Christmas and I thought it would be fun to have one light up.

The supplies that I’ll be using are:

1. One glass bottle from Hobby Lobby

2. One sheet of printable rice paper from European Excellency

3. Black chalky finish paint by DecoArt

4. Decoupage

5. Paint brush

6. Green felt

7. Hot glue

8. Scissors

9. Mica flakes

10. Elmer’s glue

11. Bottle lights

I printed a photo onto one sheet of rice paper. My printer is a laser printer but I think it will work with any type of printer.

I ripped my rice paper to have the photo fit how I want onto the bottle.

I added one thin coat of decoupage onto the bottle and then added the rice paper.

I added another coat of decoupage over the photo.

I added a few coats of the black chalky finish paint around the photo.

You will slide the strand of lights down into the bottle.

I thought it would be fun to add a simple bottle topper to the top of the bottle for each holiday. You can cut a tree shape out of a piece of green felt. I added hot glue to the edge of the tree and placed it onto another sheet of green felt.

I slid the bottom opening of the tree onto the top of the bottle.
