If you love creating DIY home decor, then you’re going to want to check out these amazing handmade flowers I just made. These quick and easy DIY flowers come together in no time, making them perfect for decorating your home all year long. With spring right around the corner, these easy spring decorations are a beautiful way to refresh your space and add a cheerful seasonal touch to your home.

To make these easy DIY coffee filter flowers, you’ll need just a few simple supplies: coffee filters, a stapler, and a pair of scissors. These basic craft materials make this a budget-friendly and beginner-friendly project for creating beautiful handmade home decor.

For each DIY coffee filter flower, I’ll be using twelve coffee filters total. Six of them will stay their original size, and the other six will be trimmed down. This simple step helps create layered petals and gives your handmade flower a fuller, more dimensional look.

To create these easy coffee filter flowers, I’ll be folding two coffee filters at a time. You’ll fold them several times, just like shown in the photos, to help form the petals. Start by folding the two filters in half to create a clean, even base for shaping your DIY flower.

Next, you’ll fold the coffee filters in half again, just like shown in the photo above. This second fold helps build the layered shape of your DIY coffee filter flower petals and gives the finished flower more dimension and fullness.

Then you’ll continue folding the coffee filters two more times. These extra folds help create the petal shape and add beautiful layers to your easy DIY coffee filter flower, giving it a fuller and more realistic look.

Once you have the coffee filters fully folded, you’ll trim the ends to a point. This simple cut shapes the petals and helps give your DIY coffee filter flower a soft, natural look once it’s opened up and fluffed.

Once you’ve trimmed the ends to a point, carefully open the coffee filters back up. When you unfold them, your DIY coffee filter flower petals should start to take shape and look similar to the photo below, with soft, layered edges ready to be assembled into a beautiful handmade flower.

You’ll want to repeat this same process on six of the coffee filters. These will create the pointed, layered petals that give your DIY coffee filter flower its full and dimensional look.

Before shaping the remaining six coffee filters, you’ll want to trim them down slightly. Cutting these a bit smaller will help create layered petals in different sizes, giving your DIY coffee filter flower more depth and a fuller, more realistic look.

I trimmed about one inch off the outer edge of the remaining six coffee filters, cutting all the way around each one. This simple step creates smaller inner petals that add depth, texture, and dimension to your DIY coffee filter flower, giving it a fuller and more realistic layered look for your handmade home decor.

Once you have the trimmed coffee filters ready, you’ll fold them the same way as the others and cut them to a point just like before. Following the same steps keeps the petal shape consistent while creating smaller layers, helping your DIY coffee filter flower look full, dimensional, and beautifully balanced.

Once all twelve coffee filters are cut and shaped, stack them together and staple them in the center. This secures all the layers in place and creates the base for your DIY coffee filter flower, making it easy to fluff and shape into a full, dimensional bloom for your home decor.

Be sure to lay the larger coffee filters down first, then stack the smaller trimmed ones on top. Layering them this way helps create a naturally full, dimensional look for your DIY coffee filter flower. Once they’re stacked, secure everything in the center with two staples to hold all the layers firmly in place before fluffing and shaping.

The last step is to gently gather each coffee filter layer up toward the center. Scrunch them one at a time to create soft, ruffled petals and give your DIY coffee filter flower a full, fluffy look. Keep shaping and fluffing until your handmade flower looks just the way you want it for your seasonal home decor.

You can easily add color to your DIY coffee filter flowers using craft paint or food coloring. Lightly brush on diluted paint for a soft, blended look, or use drops of food coloring mixed with water for a more vibrant effect. This simple step lets you customize your handmade flowers to match any season, holiday, or home decor style.

I mixed a little water with yellow food coloring to create a beautiful yellow flower. The diluted color soaks into the coffee filters perfectly, giving these DIY coffee filter flowers a soft, natural look that’s perfect for spring home decor.

These easy DIY coffee filter flowers are so simple to make, and I hope you’ll get creative and give them a try. They’re a fun, budget-friendly craft that’s perfect for adding handmade charm to your seasonal home decor.
