How To Make Succulent Ball Bowl Fillers

by blewis | Jan 13, 2025 | Everyday DIY, Home Decor | 41 comments

I found myself in Walmart today walking up and down all of the isles. The floral isle had a container of succulent vase filler that caught my eye.
There are so many ways to get creative with these succulents. I thought it would be fun and very easy to use these succulents to make some succulent ball bowl fillers.
You can find the list of supplies that I’ll be using down below:
1. Spanish moss
2. Styrofoam balls
3. Succulent vase filler
4. Styrofoam glue sticks
You can use any size styrofoam balls that you want.
You can find these succulents on Walmart by clicking my referral link down below.

I cut the ends off of the larger succulents.
I added hot glue to the styrofoam ball and then added the succulents.
I did not completely cover the styrofoam ball with the succulents. You can leave small sections uncovered and add some of the Spanish moss.
These are so easy to make and will look great in a dough bowl or on your tiered tray.
I hope you’ll get creative and give this fun DIY a try.

Barb, love this and the arrangement using the candle and new peony’s are gorgeous on the dough bowl. I think that’s the size dough bowl I need. Hope you get more in.

Too pretty for words to describe them! I may even have some moss covered balls that I can just add the succulents to, as well. I assume it is more cost efficient to use the styrofoam balls unless one already has some moss covered ones.

Barb these came out nice and I love the colors.
I suppose you can also do a topiary tree – 3 balls on wood dowel with ribbon in between and then styrofoam in a pot and stick in pot.

Barb, this turned out so pretty!! I just finished watching replay on the succulent wood tree tonight which is so beautiful!!! I found the wood flower I bought from you last year tonight. I said oh I wish Barb would do another resin project since I’ve been so nervous about doing it. I went to your page and there you were doing resin! So glad to see it again as it’s been a while but it seems not too hard to do and if you make a mistake it’s pretty easy to fix. It was a great class in working with resin. I can’t wait to see it tomorrow and yes a wooden heart would be adorable!! ❤️🌲🩷🌲

This is so pretty. I am definitely going to try this. I can’t believe the succulents are only $8.97 at Walmart! The tree bowl you made top night which was more green and light blue was my favorite. You’re an amazing crafter and definitely my favorite!
