How To Make A Lace Lantern Using A Recycled Clorox Wipe Container

by blewis | Jul 7, 2026 | Fall/Halloween | 0 comments

I love getting creative with recycled items and I thought it would be fun to get creative with a Clorox wipe container. This container will make it very quick and easy to create a lantern.
You will find the list of supplies that I’ll be using down below.
1. One recycled Clorox wipe container
2. Hot glue
3. Lace from our website
4. Bling from our website
5. Scissors
6. Candle holder from our website
7. Antique gold Rub’n buff
The first step was cutting the lace to fit around the container. Then I mixed a little orange acrylic paint with water to give the lace a soft orange tint.
You can find the lace that I used by clicking the link down below.

You’ll want to add one strip of hot glue down the container to help hold the lace in place.
Wrap the lace around the container, then add another strip of hot glue to secure the other end in place.
I used the scalloped edge of the lace along the top of the lantern. This helps hide the edge of the container and gives it a pretty finished look.
The next step was adding hot glue around the bottom of the container to hold the lace in place. I folded the lace over onto the bottom, then added a round piece of lace on top to cover it and give it a finished look.
Once the lace is secured onto the container, you can add a few bling embellishments for a little extra sparkle.
You can find the bling that I’m using on our website by clicking the link down below.

I removed the pin from the back of each bling piece, then glued them right onto the lace.
I’m adding my lantern to a candle holder from our website. You can find the candle holder by clicking the link down below.

I decided to spray paint the candle holder with a gold metallic spray paint to give it a pretty finished look.
I also added a little antique gold Rub’n Buff around the top edge of the container to give it an aged, finished look.
These lanterns were so easy to make and would look great anywhere in your home. I hope this inspires you to get creative and give this DIY a try!
