I found myself wandering through the craft aisles at Walmart, and let me tell you, they have an amazing selection of unfinished wood items! I stumbled upon an unfinished wood mason jar plaque, and I’m already brainstorming all the creative possibilities for it.
I found myself wandering through the craft aisles at Walmart, and let me tell you, they have an amazing selection of unfinished wood items! I came across this very large wooden plaque — a perfect canvas for creativity. You can grab one for yourself on Walmart by clicking my referral link down below.
The supplies that I’ll be using for this makeover are listed down below.
1. One large wooden mason jar plaque from Walmart
2. Mod Podge
3. Wrapping paper from Amazon
4. Cinnamon
5. Waverly antique wax
6. Cinnamon Stick acrylic paint by Deco Art
7. Small iron
8. Parchment paper
The first step is to apply Mod Podge to the bottom part of the mason jar.
Once you’ve applied the Mod Podge, simply place the wrapping paper on top, pressing it down gently.
You can sand off any paper that’s hanging over the edge for a clean finish.
Be sure to carefully cut around the top, as shown in the photo above.
The next step is to paint the top using cinnamon stick acrylic paint.
I decided to add some of the paint to the sides of the plaque for extra detail.
Once you’ve added the cinnamon stick paint, apply some antique wax to the areas with engraved lines. This will highlight the details.
Add a little Mod Podge, then sprinkle on some cinnamon for a cozy touch.
I used two different wrapping papers, both from Amazon. You can check them out by clicking my referral link down below. This was such an easy makeover, and it will look great anywhere in your home! I hope you’ll get creative and give this a try.

I love them. I watched you make one. I ordered 2from walmart!
I like the sunflower better. They are both cute but the second one is to dark. Maybe a lighter lid part would be better. Only my opinion.
Love both of these jars but my favorite one is the sunflower jar. Enjoyed watching you create this diy.
