We’re always getting creative here at The Shabby Tree and a lot of times we will use simple items that you might have in your home. A brown paper lunch bag or simple brown shipping paper make amazing craft items. We have used these to create a variety of items but today I want to make some decorative candy corn.

The supplies that I’ll be using are:

1. Brown shipping paper or brown lunch bags

2. Hot glue

3. Poly-fil

4. Scissors

5. Ink pen

6. Americana acrylic paint by DecoArt ( colors Banana Cream, Spiced Pumpkin and Light Buttermilk)

7. Paint brush

The first step is to make a simple candy corn pattern. I just drew the shape of a candy corn onto a piece of cardboard and cut it out. You will trace your pattern onto the brown paper. You want to double layer the brown paper so that you will have two pieces when you cut them.

Once you have your pieces cut out you’ll glue them together.

Be sure to leave an opening so that you can stuff them with the poly-fil.

Once you have them stuffed you will glue the opening shut.

The next step is to paint the candy corn.

Be sure to paint both sides of the candy corn.

These are very easy to make and will look perfect in a dough bowl or on a two tiered tray.

I wanted to get creative with a few so I decided to make a wreath.

I traced a paper plate onto a piece of cardboard.

I went 2 inches out from the circle and drew another circle.

I used an exacto knife and cut out my wreath form.

I glued the candy corn onto the cardboard wreath and then glued on some Spanish moss.

This wreath is very easy to make and will look great any where in your home. I hope you will get creative and give this a try.
