I have been getting a lot of questions about how to create some yard decorations using plastic items. Sometimes the strong winds, animals or children can break the glass items that you have in your yard. I was in the Dollar Tree and I came across four items that we can use to create a decorative angel. This angel will look great any where in your yard and I also love it for a graveside.

The supplies that we’ll be using are:

1. Drill and drill bit

2. Five screws and nuts ( you want your screws to be about one inch long)

3. One 2 liter clear bottle of fruit mist from the Dollar Tree

4. One long clear oval bowl from the Dollar Tree

5. One round clear bowl from the Dollar Tree

6. One clear candy jar from the Dollar Tree

7. X-acto knife

The first step is to remove all of the labels from the bowls and the 2 littler bottle.

Once you have all of the labels removed you’ll want to cut the bottom of the 2 litter bottle off as shown in photo below.

Once you have the bottom cut off you’ll also want to cut the top part off.

You’ll set the bottle aside for just a minute and you’ll want to drill a hole into the center of the round bowl.

Once you have the hole drilled in the center of the round bowl you’ll want to drill a hole in the center bottom of the candy jar.

You’ll attach these two pieces together using a screw and nut as shown in photo above.

The next step is to attach this part to the clear bottle piece.

You’ll want to drill two holes opposite of each other at the base of the candy jar container.

You’ll insert the screws into the holes and then add the nuts.

The next step is to drill 2 holes into the long oval bowl.

I drilled one into the center and then realized you need a second hole to prevent the wings from moving.

You’ll add the screws through the holes and then add the nuts.

I decided to add a little spray paint to my angle. It would be better to spray paint your pieces before securing them all together.

I used a Metallic Gold and a Heirloom White.

This angel can easily be secured into the ground by adding a stake. I drilled 2 holes to match the holes in the back of the angel. You’ll add a longer screw to fit through the wings and the stake.

I love how easy this angel was to make and I love that you can find all the items from the Dollar Tree. I hope you’ll get creative and give this angel a try.
