If you’re following The Shabby Tree then you know how much I love having all types of lights throughout my house. It is always fun adding candles to different types of lanterns. I want to make some fun lanterns that can be created for all different holidays and I think the Dollar Tree cookie sheets will work perfect for them.

The supplies that I’ll be using are :

1. Dollar Tree aluminum cookie sheets

2. Scissors

3. One wooden kabob stick

4. One piece of flat styrofoam

5. Hot glue

6. Ink pen and paper

7. Spray paint ( optional)

8. Rub’n Buff ( optional)

9. One glass jar

The first step is to cut the cookie sheets. You want to cut the outer trim off of the cookie sheets.

The next step is to punch out an image into the cookie sheet. I find it easy to cut out a pattern from a piece of paper and then punch around the pattern. I want to do a tree for Christmas and a Pumpkin for Halloween.

I held the pattern onto the cookie sheet and used the wooden kabob stick to punch holes around the pattern. This is easy to do if you place the cookie sheet over the styrofoam.

Once you have your imaged punched out you will then roll the cookie sheet around the glass jar.

The jar will help form the lantern and then you will glue the ends together.

I decided to use the Caramel colored Rust-Oleum spray paint on the lanterns.

Once the spray paint was dry I then added som Antique Gold Rub’n Buff.

You can punch out any image and paint the lantern any color.

These are so easy to make and I just love how you can make them for all holidays. I hope you will get creative and give this a try.
