I started decorating for Christmas and I seem to have a snowflake theme going on in my dining room this year. We have created a few snowflakes here at The Shabby Tree but I thought it would be fun to create a snowflake lantern. I like to try and get creative with recycled items so I think we can easily create this lantern out of a recycled Clorox wipe container.

The supplies that I’ll be using are :

1. One recycled Clorox wipe container

2. Wood burning tool

3. Elmer’s glue

4. Paint brush

5. Glitter

6. X-acto knife

It is best to use the wood burning tool outside for this project.

You’ll burn one hole in the center of the container.

Once you have the hole you’ll start to form your lines for your snowflake. You can make any design you want for your snowflake.

Once I had my snowflake created I then used the x-acto knife. You can use the x-acto knife to remove any pieces that are hanging.

I painted the Elmer’s glue all around the edges of the snowflake and then sprinkled on some glitter. You can use any type of glitter. I decided to use a glitter that looks like a sugar glitter.

This lantern is so quick and easy to make. I added some battery operated wire lights to it so that it can light up at night.

I love how this turned out and I hope that you’ll give it a try.
