It’s time to start decorating for Fall and pumpkins are a must have. You will see a lot of pumpkins in the stores right now but we like to create fun and unique pumpkins here at The Shabby Tree. I love to add lights throughout my home and I knew that a wire mesh pumpkin would be perfect to add a candle or stand of lights to.

The supplies you will need for this pumpkin are:

1. Wire mesh basket from the Dollar Tree

2. Wire cutters

3. Scissors

4. Spray paint

5. Doily and embellishments

6. Glue gun

The first step is to clip the top ring of the basket off. I’m using wire cutters for this step.

The next step is to cut the bottom of the basket off. I’m using wire cutters for this step.

You will now have the center of the basket to form your pumpkin.

I started to bend the widest end of the basket in. This will be the bottom of your pumpkin.

I am leaving a wide opening in the bottom of the pumpkin so that I can place a candle up in the pumpkin.

Next you will start to fold in the top of the pumpkin. You will shape this according to how you want your pumpkin shaped.

I left a smaller opening on the top of the pumpkin. This is where you will insert the stem of your pumpkin.

I am cutting the center out of the bottom piece of the basket. This is what you will use to create the stem of your pumpkin.

You will just roll it to form your stem.

I then spray painted my pumpkin. I used a gold spray paint on one and an orange on the other.

I added a doily and embellishments to the top of the pumpkin. I used hot glue to hold them in place.

These are so easy to make and you can decorate them in so many different ways. I hope you will get creative and give this a try.
